Why Volunteer?
The performing arts world is in desperate need of Christ’s redemption. The Christians already in performing ensembles and schools are in even greater need of support as they boldly live and share their faith with their colleagues. CPAF is committed to supporting these missionaries but we can’t do it alone!
There is a great need for prayer support in this groundbreaking endeavor. For this reason, CPAF is beginning a volunteer program focused mainly on praying individually and corporately for the performing arts world. Please consider how you might be able to give in this quiet and powerful way.
In addition to prayer support, there are countless other ways to serve. These opportunities are mainly connected with the Second Sunday Series and other performance events.
Why CPAF?
CPAF has the same goal that Jesus Christ gave to all Christians: to help fulfill the Great Commission, to “go and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19)
The vision of CPAF is to bring the love of Christ to a relatively untouched mission field: the many thousands involved in the world of the performing arts. This includes performers, teachers, and audiences, as well as arts administrators. CPAF is organized as a trans-denominational ministry dedicated to performing and teaching the classical arts to the glory of God and to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
How Can I Get Involved?
There are two essential ways in which CPAF would love your involvement. The first, is prayer. We are seeking to provide opportunities for the community to support the vision of CPAF and MasterWorks through individual and corporate prayer. The second way is through service. We have many needs, especially surrounding the concerts, for helpers to set up, distribute programs, collect the offering and clean up afterwards. We really appreciate the help and support of the people in this community. You make our concerts possible.
Prayer
Corporate Prayer
A weekly prayer meeting will be held in the CPAF offices. Prayer during this time will focus on the expansion of the vision of CPAF and the MasterWorks Festival. An emphasis will be placed especially on prayer for MasterWorks students and faculty overseas, as well as the spiritual state of orchestras and performing arts companies worldwide. This is a wonderful way to join in one accord with others as we seek to spread Christ’s love through the performing arts world.
Individual Prayer
This is an opportunity for volunteers to partner in prayer on an individual basis for the world of the performing arts. These volunteers will receive prayer requests regularly via email or postal mail (if no email is available). These volunteers will essentially be praying for the same things as those involved in corporate prayer. This is a great way to join in prayer, even if you are unable to attend the corporate prayer meetings.
Service
The second opportunity for involvement with CPAF is that of service. Many hands make light work. There are plenty of small, but vitally important tasks involved in every performance event that takes place. Assisting the CPAF staff with these activities would be a great blessing and require little time on the behalf of volunteers. These services include ushering, assisting with stage setup, setup and clean up, and other tasks.
